Broken Horn Project: Living Room Details

Location: Boise, ID

Photography: Sophia Wikoff

The goal for the living room at the Broken Horn project was to feel like we had converted an old barn into a modern place to live. We incorporated tall ceilings with shiplap accents on the ceiling with two chandeliers to bring your eye down to the warmth of the space. For paint we used a fan favorite, Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee, which gave the space the perfect warmth while still keeping the walls neutral. The fireplace is a statement while somehow still being subtle with the custom plaster. We decided to do a view-through fireplace to allow the kitchen and living room to feel open but still their own space.

For furniture selections I wanted it to feel inviting but sophisticated so we did two of the Varick couches from Maiden Home, which are deep COMFY couches, we didn’t want to skimp on comfort or livability! We then added two Anthropologie Olivier Club chairs to add additional seating and cap the space. For the centerpiece we opted for two ottomans rather than a coffee table to add texture and depth but still having a place to style and utilize for everyday needs. The rest of the space fell together pretty naturally and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!
